Performance Designs
Designers and manufacturers of some of the most popular canopies around. PD makes the Sabre, Stiletto, Spectre, Silhouette, F-111 9-cells and 7-cells, and reserves. I have personally had 2 PD canopies and I love my Sabre. Watch out for the website, though- it is a monster download, not text friendly, and it looks crappy. They have some nice ideas and a bit of info if you dig, though. I like the discussion of the Stiletto's flight characteristics.

Precision Aerodynamics
Precision also makes excellent canopies. A strong rival of PD, they make the Falcon (our student canopy), Monarch (I almost got one instead of a Sabre), Batwing, the extremely popular Raven and Raven Dash-M Reserves, and the much publicized ultra-high performance Icarus Extreme. What many people don't know, is that the Extreme isn't the only Icarus canopy available- this is actually a cooperative project with a company from New Zealand. Precision actually also has a pretty good website. You can get all kinds of great skydiving info there, including instructional or learning resources, directions for an easy way to pack Zero-P, and info on the first parachute jump. This is definitely a site worth checking out.

Aerodyne Research
Aerodyne makes the popular and versatile Triathlon. This is a very nice 7-cell Zero-P canopy. It has great flight characteristics, flies well at slow speeds, and you can sink it into a tight landing area. The fabric feels a little weird- almost kind of tacky. This helps prevent the slipping and sliding Zero-P canopies are notorious and makes it much easier to pack. As an added bonus, Aerodyne has a packing video available that is much better than "Pack Like a Pro." This is an excellent packing tape which you can get for $19.95 ($25 for PAL). BTW, I am not getting paid for that endorsement. Amazingly, you can actually order a Triathlon online! I think this is the first gear manufacturer making their products directly available online. You might still check the prices you get from a dealer, though. The online store looks like it charges full retail list price- something you should NEVER have to pay.

Flight Concepts International
Manufacturers of 9-cell, 7-cell, "Total Performanc" Zero-Ps, and reserves. To be honest, I don't know that much about theses canopies. I know someone who jumps a Maverick (200 sq.ft. F-111 7-cell), but I have never jumped it. Other than hers, I have rarely seen Flight Concepts canopies. They just don't seem to be too popular around here.
